The applications for diX parylene coating are unlimited. As companies discover this type of coating for their products they are realizing the benefits and advantages to using it over other types of coating materials. The last several years has seen enormous growth in the parylene coating industry. We expect to see this outsized growth continue in the years ahead as more people discover the benefits of parylene. Below are a few of the many applications that have benefited from diX parylene.

Aerospace & Military
Whether in an airplane instrumentation panel or in other areas of commercial, passenger or military craft; diX Parylene coating provides a solution to the harshest conditions without failure. Mission critical uses are the specialty of this unique material. The properties of moisture resistance and chemical resistance are clearly important in this industry. diX Parylene performs consistently time after time in the most challenging environments.

Soft Ferrite Cores
In the ferrite industry, diX C Parylene coating is used as a dielectric to coat inductors, resistors, chokes and transformers that are used in the telecommunications industry with applications such as printed circuit boards and voice over internet. Ferrite is also used for computers, HF Power Supplies, CATV, TV's VCR's, vending machines and interference suppression devices. diX C is a perfect fit for the ferrite industry because, like ferrite, diX also has high electrical resistivity. These complementary properties allow for a thin film dielectric that prevents magnet wire from shorting to the core as well as allowing for more windings with the increasingly small geometries. With the large quantities of high permeability ferrite products that need coating and the relative size of some of the parts, a gas phase coating process is the best solution. Other conformal coatings do not provide the same accuracy or results.

Printed Circuit Boards (PCB's)
Printed circuit board coating is one of the main uses for the diX Parylene material. We meet military specification MIL-I-46058C type XY for PCB's and also UL Approval. PCB's are used in a wide variety of industries for increasingly diverse applications. For example, they are used in computers, instrumentation, medical devices, cell phones, and utility meters to name just a few. Any PCB that is placed in a harsh environment performs best when parylene coated.

Medical
The potential for growth in this industry is both exciting and increasing steadily. Both diX C and diX N Parylene coating materials are widely used on medical devices. Meeting FDA class VI and having excellent surface properties diX has been chosen to coat such items as cannula, pacemaker components, shunts, forming mandrels and guide wires. diX has a dimer purity greater than 99%, which produces a reliable, repeatable and high crystalline polymer designed to meet the toughest industry standard.

Rubber Products
Optimal for use with these products because of the dry film lubricity and chemical resistivity that diX provides, it is used on silicone rubber keypads for cell phones, computers, calculators as well as rubber products used in the medical field. Keypad life is increased exponentially by reducing the coefficient of friction and preventing finger oil from attacking the pad printing.
